This
time in class we learned more about John, Daniel, and Panther. They all have
jobs. Daniel and Panther work in a bank, and John is working in a factory
making gaskets. The boys have spent a year now in the States, and they are
still getting used to it but they are going places. John is now a leader of the
community, giving speeches about the lost boys, and holding fundraisers to send
money to the lost boys back in Sudan. There is a lost boy’s reunion for all the
lost boys that are now living in the states. When they all see each other they
are overjoyed. It is amazing to see how they all have come so far within only a
year’s times period. There was one boy (who was not significant to the
story) who was trying to show John and all the other boys about his brand new
car and when they later interviewed John he said “we boys shouldn't be
flaunting our brand new cars, or the clothes we are wearing! We should be
thankful, and always thinking about how we can help our real and fake (all the
lost boys) families back in Sudan”. Because this is John, Panthers, and Daniels
goal, to make enough money to bring their families to the states so they all
can live a happy, healthy, and safe life.
